a roster of exciting events to welcome you back to fire on April 19th!

Thanks to everyone once again, for all your support and encouragement.  Our repairs are just about complete and we’re thrilled  to welcome you back to fire on April 19th–YEAH!!!!. We’re so excited to be getting back to normal at the restaurant. Here are just a few of the many special events we’ve been dreaming up!

Shaker Lakes Pestival Fund Raiser-This Friday April 13, 2012, fire will be one of the featured restaurants at “Pestival,” Shaker Lakes Nature Center’s very popular annual fund raiser, which showcases culinary delights made with one of Northeast Ohio’s most frustrating  and invasive  intruders, the garlic mustard plant. “Pestival” features an evening of delectable treats made by some of Cleveland’s most celebrated local chefs and independent restaurants. The clever folks at the Nature Center crafted this cocktail-style event as a fun and creative way to deal with this tasty, though intrusive,  pest which is yanked from the grounds each year. As the event promotion says, “If you can’t beat it, eat it.” Come out and see how Cleveland chefs turn the annoying into the delicious. Click here for details and information on Pestival 2012.

Israeli Dinner-We still have a limited number of reservations available for our Israeli Dinner on April 23, 2012. It our first ever Israeli food event and we are very excited to present it upon our reopening. Doug and culinary consultant Cindy Attias have been refining and tweaking the menu  this week in preparation. This dinner features not simply classic Jewish foods but rather the wide ranging cuisine of Israel today.  Encompassing foods from Europe to the Mediterranean, the Middle East and other regions in between, Israeli food today is one of the world’s most varied fusion cuisines.  The Contranuities Quartet will provide live music setting the scene for a fabulous evening of fine dining and fascinating insight.  We hope to see you there .  See the menu for our Foods of  Israel Today event here.

New Spring Menu- Menu change time is always special for us but with all the commotion of the past week I can hardly describe how excited we are to simply settle down and just cook our hearts out on April 19th as we debute our new Spring menu. Look for  your favorite flavors of Spring like early sweet peas, rhubarb, ramps, fresh Spring goat cheeses, and of course Spring lamb. We’ll be posting photos of all the new dishes next week. Check back…better yet call 216/921-3473 now to reserve a table  to taste all the fresh new deliciousness!

Dear Doug, Hillary, and Staff at Fire,
I just heard about the fire couple of days a ago from a colleague. I’m very sorry about the upset, but glad to hear no one was injured and your restaurant is getting back to normalcy. Best to everyone at Fire.
