insanely wonderful-our evening at greenfield farm

It was an insanely wonderful evening this past week at our Blueberry  Barbeque at Greenfield Berry Farm! The farm is part of the Countryside Conservancy program and rests snugly within the Cuyahoga National Park’s 20,339 stunning acres. It was  a perfect time to be at the farm during this transition of Summer to Fall– at the time of the harvest. Between perfect weather, gorgeous surroundings and fantastic food it was a fantastic summer send-off.  The evening felt just effortlessly elegant, no doubt due to the hard work and planning of our entire staff. But pulling together a such a spiffy off-site event like this one, at a farm no less (without the comforts of handy light switches, sinks, faucets, and the rest of the standard kitchen niceties) requires a bushel of logistical planning and organization. Big kudos go to our amazing staff who crafted this fine event. We’d like to single out a few. Event planner Hillary Lyon, handles all details large and small so beautifully that she has  even mastered how to order up  the perfect weather–BRAVO Hillary! Sommelier and mixologist extraordinaire, Todd Thompson brought the art of hydration to unimaginable levels  with fantastic cocktails crafted with fresh fruits and house-made infusions–not to mention lovely wine selections. Our banquet chef Matt Baber worked tirelessly running the back end of the food prep as Doug ran the serving, staging and oversaw every appetizer, every entree every dessert and just about everything else while serving as our charming host. Compliments and gratitude also go out to our other talented cooks, servers, and bussers whose hard work helped to make the night so special.

There is something magical and delicious about dining outdoors in the Greenfield’s beautiful restored barn, enjoying the live music of Brent Kirby, kicking back and just returning to the farm a place of passion, beauty, and inspiration. Heartfelt thanks to all who came out. Post and photos by Amy Viny
